Field Installation Project Manager

Job Summary

The Field Installation Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of car wash installations across Ontario. This role requires strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Liaison and Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and recommendations to internal team members and customers regarding equipment selection and installation.
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Develop and maintain project schedules, progress updates, and coordinate with customers, subtrades, and vendors.
  • Site Supervision: Provide on-site support to service technicians for service and warranty issues or all Transchem-supplied equipment.
  • Project Administration: Use internal software systems (CRM/ERP) to manage all projects, including document control and post-project analysis.
  • Leadership and Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to make recommendations to increase project effectiveness and ROI.

Requirements

  • 3 years direct experience working in field, construction, or mechanical project management.
  • Experience in the car wash industry or related industries such as automotive selling equipment or services, chemical & cleaning supplies for the automotive industry, automotive equipment or components.
  • Preferred candidates will have a PMP Certification (or working towards) or other business-related diploma.
  • Related certifications and/or license in related trades is an asset.

Preferred Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of completing equipment layout, reading technical drawings, and blueprints.
  • Assembly and alignment, rigging/lifting, welding, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of car wash systems.
  • Understanding of electrical theory and function, including ability to install and troubleshoot low-voltage control systems.
  • Strong communication skills needed to effectively build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Effective Project Management Skills

  • Communicate and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Effectively coordinate and manage multiple moving parts, including document control.
  • Prioritize and pivot competing demands to meet deadlines.
  • Complete post-project analysis and reporting.
  • Communicate with team members and leadership to make recommendations to increase project effectiveness and ROI.

This position is located in Cambridge, Ontario. Work arrangement is hybrid, and travel is required 50% of the time.
