Job Title: Microbiology Laboratory Manager

Pharmascience is seeking a highly skilled Microbiology Laboratory Manager to join our team at the Candiac site. As a key member of our Quality Assurance department, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of the microbiology laboratory, supporting our three manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily activities of the microbiology laboratory, ensuring seamless operations across four work shifts.
  • Review and approve new microbiological methods, validation reports, and protocols, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Develop and maintain environmental monitoring programs, ensuring the implementation and monitoring of trend analysis systems.
  • Assess the impact of change requests on microbiological quality, products, raw materials, components, environment, equipment, and systems.
  • Participate in investigations related to environmental monitoring, product analysis, and laboratory activities.
  • Review and maintain procedures related to environmental monitoring and microbiology activities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and systems, including verification of laboratory data and approval of results in LIMS.
  • Participate in establishing departmental budgets and hiring processes.
Human Resources Management:
  • Hire, train, and develop staff under your supervision.
  • Manage, motivate, and evaluate team members to achieve defined objectives.
  • Maintain workforce levels to meet corporate objectives.
Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian, European, and American GMP.
  • Expertise in microbiology requirements and techniques for manufacturing sterile and non-sterile dosage forms.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and ensure follow-ups.
  • Excellent people management skills and mastery of French and English, both oral and written.
  • Mastery of the MS Office suite and Microsoft Project.
