We are seeking an Energy Modelling Specialist to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Customer Experience & Innovation team, you will play a leading role in enabling the energy transition and advancing our understanding of the Nova Scotia energy system.

This is a permanent position with a hybrid work model, offering 2 flexible remote workdays. Our company values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we strongly encourage applications from all qualified candidates.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a data analytics role, encompassing research, modeling, or statistical analysis. You should possess strong communication, presentation, and business writing skills, as well as experience with Excel, MATLAB, Python, R, Tableau, ADX, or other data visualization tools.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop modelling processes, compile data requirements, and prepare reporting for EM&V of various customer programs, rates, and pilots.
  • Utilize big data relating to energy consumption, system data, weather patterns, technology, demographics, and interaction data to create actionable business insights and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data and analytics professionals to develop an internal data warehouse, KPI reporting, and dashboards using data visualization software, trend analysis, and ad-hoc reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, statistics, engineering, or computer science; a Master's degree or professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience with fixed effects regression modelling techniques and knowledge of the industry sector is also considered an asset.
  • Strong quantitative business skills, including statistical modelling and machine learning concepts.
