**The Role**

The Architectural Designer will prepare and coordinate conceptual plans, review venue design and construction contract bid documents and specifications for projects applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials.

This position will also be responsible for furniture design, selection, and procurement to align with project design aesthetic.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Prepare concept designs, specifications, and presentations for development projects.

* Coordinate development of project design and documentation with external consultants, managing both internal and external stakeholders.

* Manage external design and engineering consultants and vendors.

* Set project design aesthetic direction and review and coordinate implementation with project consultants.

* Prepare and review plans, construction bid documents, and specifications for major and minor capital improvement projects and for alteration and renovation projects.

* Develop project scope, schedule, and cost, and review this with the business unit to ensure the project meets business objectives.

* Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with set goals and timelines.

* Act as the liaison between the different stakeholders in the project, ensuring communication at all levels and keeping all parties up to date.

* Review and analyze construction documents to ensure design and programmatic alignment and identify potential constructability or coordination risks during preconstruction phase.

* Work with Art and Branding teams on development and implementation of venue art program.

**Requirements**

* Bachelor's degree in Architecture; 5+ years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

* Licensure is preferred.

* Experience with all phases of project development from conceptual design through construction administration.

* A strong understanding of building codes and systems.

* Ability to design and plan major construction projects.

* Ability to travel to project sites and meetings, including Canada and the US.

* Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills.

* Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, REVIT, Sketchup/Enscape, and Bluebeam.

**Salary**

$57,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year.

**Location**

This position is based in Canada.

However, open to applicants based in the US with expected travel to Canada.
