The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customer Business Development Representative to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers' business development efforts by providing timely and insightful information, analysis, and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure seamless execution of order fulfillment, collaborating with internal departments to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Attend key customer meetings, including business reviews, planning meetings, and new product presentations, to provide support and insights to our Customer Business Development Managers.
  • Provide backup support to Customer Business Development Managers, including vacation coverage and other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Analyze key performance indicators, trends, and future opportunities, such as sales volume, trade spending, KAAP, advertising promotions, new product launches, pricing, and make recommendations to drive business growth.
  • Assist in the development of customer presentations, including product launches, customer business plans, promotions, merchandising, pricing, and other relevant topics.
  • Coordinate, support, or lead internal processes to enable Customer Managers to focus on external activities.
  • Effectively communicate customer requirements across all internal functions.
  • Ensure systems and processes are effectively managed and improved.
  • Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities.
  • Support customer teams with information requests, key insights, recommendations, and processes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers to provide value-added services and support.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a business-related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in sales or marketing.
  • Previous experience as a Customer Business Development Representative is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with LDIA and AC Nielsen is also an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, fact-based, and detail-oriented.
