About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at the Hemo Dialysis unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, Renal Services Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of patients and develop individualized care plans to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide person-centered care and promote patient autonomy.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Two (2) years' recent, related clinical nursing experience in the designated clinical area and completion of post-graduate coursework and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area.
  • Clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area, including the ability to initiate and maintain intravenous therapy.
  • Ability to recognize acuity changes and prioritize patient care accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
