About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team at East Tea Can. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
  • Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, and manage kitchen operations.
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members.
  • Communication: Excellent oral communication skills to effectively communicate with colleagues and management.
  • Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
