Job Title: Commercial Construction Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at Forbes Bros. Ltd. in Eastern and Southwestern Ontario. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on our construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of construction sites, including planning, coordination, and execution of projects.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating any potential risks or issues.
  • Lead and manage a team of construction professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure that they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and estimators, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports, including project schedules, budgets, and quality control metrics.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in utility/powerline construction or a related field.
  • Trade certification, when applicable, is required.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills, including the ability to lead by example, build consensus, actively listen, and engage/influence employees at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ethics, professionalism, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to upholding the values and principles of Forbes Bros. Ltd.
