Job Summary:

The Superintendent is a key member of the Tomlinson Group of Companies, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with project managers, field teams, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise and guidance to project managers and field teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of field crews, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop and implement project plans and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to field teams to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues or concerns.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records and reports to track project progress and performance.

Requirements:

  • Construction Engineering Technician or Civil Engineering Technologist degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of industry experience, with 5+ years of demonstrated effective people management experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
