About the Role

Interior Health Authority is seeking a reliable and flexible Health Care Assistant (Patient Care Aide) to join our Emergency team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in beautiful Williams Lake, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living
  • Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and related equipment
  • Perform nursing procedures such as taking temperature, pulse, and respiration
  • Perform housekeeping activities relating to maintaining a safe and healthy environment
  • Observe and report changes in patient progress, symptoms, and condition
  • Perform clerical duties and other related tasks
About the Team

As a key team member of an interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and emergency department physicians to provide patient care within the hospital.

Working under the direction of RNs and LPNs, Patient Care Aides follow established care plans and routines to deliver the best patient care possible.

Cariboo Memorial Hospital is a vital hub for healthcare in Williams Lake and the surrounding area, offering a comprehensive range of services, including emergency care, surgical procedures, specialized treatments, laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, and ongoing public health support.

The hospital features one trauma room, a minor surgery room, monitoring bays, a gynecology room, a designated observation area, and a two-bay cast room, with a mix of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and emergency department physicians providing round-the-clock coverage.
