Employment Status/Type: Full-time, Seasonal (Nov-April)

Job Summary:

As a key member of the Hummingbird Lodge team, the Team Lead will oversee and maintain all aspects of accommodation and services, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and efficient resort operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Embody and promote Whitewater's mission statement and values.
  2. Foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and excellence in daily operations.
  3. Assist in the kitchen when needed and maintain inventory of housekeeping products and other suite supplies.
  4. Manage reservations, point of contact for camping, RV parking, and suite services, and work with the janitor team to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
  5. Ensure maintenance issues are addressed and brought to the supervisor's attention, and manage rental inventory, including equipment setup and fittings.
  6. Participate in training of staff and act as supervisor of the day, overseeing operations of the lodge and campground.
  7. Work with department supervisors and managers to ensure resort standards are met for marketing, guest services, retail, rentals, facility maintenance, janitorial, trail maintenance, and condition and hazard reporting.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience an asset.
  • Kitchen experience an asset.
  • Previous backcountry or remote lodge experience an asset.
  • Strong administrative capabilities, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, POS systems, and electronic and hard copy file management.
  • Serving it Right and Food Safe 1 an asset.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Superior time management and multitasking skills, with the proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage various deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills and self-motivation in guiding a facility by taking initiative and problem-solving.
  • Maintains a professional disposition in all guest and staff interactions, and ensures operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conflict resolution skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems logically and make decisions in unique situations.
