Job Title: Resource Centre Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Resource Centre Technician to join our team at the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to students and staff in the use of digital resources and technologies in the learning commons environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and assistance to students and staff in the use of digital resources and technologies
  • Assist in the maintenance and organization of the learning commons environment
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the effective use of digital resources and technologies
  • Collaborate with education staff to develop and implement curriculum-related programs and services
  • Provide training and support to students and staff on the use of digital resources and technologies
Requirements:
  • Two-year post-secondary diploma in Library and Information Technology or equivalent
  • One year of related experience in a computerized/digital environment
  • Intermediate/Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft environment including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and experience working with a variety of digital and web-based resources and processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Requirements:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in an educational library environment
  • Understanding of the needs of the 21st-century learner and related Global Competencies
  • Understanding of and familiarity with the unique structure of a learning commons environment and how these supports fostering innovation, creativity, student engagement, and learning in the 21st Century
  • A demonstrated commitment to creating a modernized and innovative resource center that supports student learning
