Financial Reporting Manager for Infrastructure Funds

Fengate Asset Management is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the financial reporting team for its infrastructure funds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in managing financial reporting for private equity funds.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the fund's external administrator, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of accounting records and financial reporting. They will also manage capital activity, perform detailed reviews of notices and investor communications, and ensure compliance with governing fund documents and credit facilities.
The role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and oversee a team, as well as interact closely with project teams, fund administrators, investor relations teams, tax teams, and external investors. The successful candidate will have a strong finance/accounting foundation, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the fund's external administrator to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting records and financial reporting
- Manage and oversee capital activity, performing a detailed review of notices and other investor communications prepared by the fund's administrator ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage the fund's day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with governing fund documents and credit facilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the investor relations team to respond to investor requests and assist with fundraising initiatives
- Liaise with tax team and advisors to oversee tax filings and compliance with tax authorities in the U.S. and Canada
- Review, oversee and provide training to more junior members of the team
- Other ad-hoc financial analysis to support the infrastructure business unit and the broader Fengate team (i.e., asset management, legal, investments, etc.)
- Contribute new ideas to develop best in class processes and procedures
- Assist in preparation of quarterly investor and management reports and presentations
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant technical discipline
- CPA designation preferred
- Experience with private equity funds is an asset
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Exceptional quality standards and an ongoing desire to push for new approaches
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines as a part of a team
- Strong business acumen and judgment
