The Scotiabank team is seeking a skilled Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to join their growing team in Coquitlam, British Columbia. As a key member of the Canadian Business Banking portfolio, this role will be responsible for developing and executing business development plans to drive profitable growth in assigned markets.

Job Description:

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • * Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve assigned growth objectives

  • * Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and relationship-building

  • * Provide exceptional client service and build strong relationships with clients to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction

  • * Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including credit specialists, product specialists, and operational teams, to ensure seamless delivery of services and products

  • * Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform business development strategies and stay ahead of industry developments

  • * Manage a portfolio of existing commercial customers, providing regular account reviews, identifying cross-selling opportunities, and ensuring timely fulfillment of service requests

  • * Participate in local professional and community events to expand network contacts and enhance the Bank's reputation in the market

Requirements:

  • * Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field; or equivalent work experience

  • * Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial banking, sales, or business development; or completion of the Bank's Training Program

  • * Strong sales and closing skills, with ability to meet or exceed sales targets

  • * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

  • * Thorough knowledge of commercial lending and deposit products and services, as well as customer profitability models, to provide integrated financial solutions

  • * Good PC skills, including Microsoft Office and commercial systems and platforms
