About the Role

The Woodfibre LNG Project is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and operation of our liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and support to the project team on commercial and regulatory matters related to the LNG project.
  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to negotiate and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct research and analysis on complex legal issues and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and provide guidance to the project team on compliance matters.
Requirements
  • At least 7+ years' experience in commercial and natural resource related law in British Columbia or Alberta.
  • Canadian law degree and current membership (or willingness to obtain membership) in the law society of British Columbia or Alberta.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
