Job Title: Legal Counsel, Commercial Law

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team at Woodfibre LNG. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and operation of our liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility.

About the Role:
  • Provide legal advice and support to our project team on commercial and natural resource-related matters.
  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize legal and commercial issues.
  • Prepare and review a variety of agreements, including contracts, procurement documents, and regulatory submissions.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations, and provide guidance on their impact on our business.
Requirements:
  • At least 7+ years' experience in commercial and natural resource-related law in British Columbia or Alberta.
  • Canadian law degree and current membership (or willingness to obtain membership) in the Law Society of British Columbia or Alberta.
  • Strong drafting skills, confident stakeholder management skills, sound judgment, and a pragmatic approach to in-house legal work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop practical and risk-balanced solutions.
