Job Title: In-House Legal Counsel

At Lush, we are seeking an experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join our team in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the company's legal affairs are managed effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on commercial matters, including contract negotiations and corporate governance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including those related to corporate law and commercial law in Canada and the US.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive effective and efficient management of legal matters.
  • Maintain electronic records of agreements and ensure the Finance team is updated accordingly.
  • Provide guidance and support on corporate organizational legal matters, including corporate reorganizations and change of officers/directors.
  • Counsel business leaders on day-to-day requests regarding corporate legal matters.
  • Notarize legal documents as required.
  • Partner with the HR Compliance Manager on sensitive employment issues.
Qualifications:
  • Law degree with at least 5+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial law or equivalent experience relevant to the role.
  • Recent experience working for a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with corporate law and commercial law in both Canada and the US.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize, and manage large complex workloads to tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, solutions-driven approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and commitment to accommodate additional work demands as required.
  • Current member of a law society in Canada or the US.
Location and Type:

The preferred location of the successful candidate will be Vancouver, British Columbia. Potential flexibility for the role to be North America remote dependent on business needs. This is a hybrid position.
