Job Title: Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Maple Leaf Queen's Buffet. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our guests.

Responsibilities:
  • Menu Planning: Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the tastes of our diverse customer base.
  • Chef Management: Supervise and train a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Manage kitchen inventory, including food, supplies, and equipment, to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Requirements:
  • Culinary Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and completion of a culinary program or equivalent experience.
  • Work Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success in kitchen operations and team management.
  • Language: Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with our team and guests.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Cook Trade Certification: Possession of a Cook Trade Certification, demonstrating your expertise in culinary arts.
  • Food Safety Certificate: Completion of a Food Safety Certificate program, ensuring your knowledge of food safety and handling practices.
Cuisine Specialties:
  • Cantonese Cuisine: Experience in preparing and cooking Cantonese cuisine, with a focus on traditional techniques and ingredients.
  • Sushi Preparation Techniques: Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including the art of creating visually appealing and delicious sushi dishes.
  • Szechuan and Dim Sum: Experience in preparing and cooking Szechuan and Dim Sum dishes, with a focus on bold flavors and textures.
