About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Engagement Specialist to join our team at The Government of Nova Scotia. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of Nova Scotians by developing and implementing effective community engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community engagement frameworks and plans to ensure the voices of underrepresented and underserved communities are heard and represented.
  • Collaborate with government departments to develop and implement engagement strategies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Research and analyze best practices in community engagement to inform the development of engagement frameworks and plans.
  • Compile and analyze engagement reports to inform decision-making and improve engagement strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to ensure effective engagement and outreach.
Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study, such as public administration or social sciences, and several years of progressive experience in community engagement and outreach. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) training.

You will have experience working with underserved and underrepresented communities, developing and implementing engagement frameworks, and analyzing and compiling engagement reports. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
