Senior Policy Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Policy Analyst to join our Performance and Accountability team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing expert research, analysis, and strategic advice on key accountabilities, programs, and initiatives to promote a high-quality health system.
Primary Accountabilities- Develop and implement evidence-based policies, programs, and strategies to inform departmental decision-making.
- Analyze policy and research options to advance the quality of the health system.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams and key stakeholders to build, monitor, and analyze regular accountability reporting and health system trends.
- Develop policy options for current and future accountability needs.
- Support and evaluate innovative accountability frameworks and strategies that promote high-quality health systems.
- Prepare confidential briefs and other submissions.
To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus eight years of related experience, or a Master's degree plus six years of related experience, as well as two years of clinical experience in an acute care setting. An acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
You possess strong interpersonal skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced, agile environment, and can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated experience in outcomes, evaluation, and research methodologies.
- Excellent communication and writing skills for preparing reports, briefing materials, presentations, and other submissions.
- Broad understanding of corporate and government processes and current health priorities.
- Well-organized, capable of prioritizing high-level work under tight timelines, and able to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
