About the Position

We are seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team at Autobus Yamaska inc. in Bedford, Eastern Townships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain school buses to ensure safe and reliable transportation for students.
  • Perform road tests to diagnose and address mechanical issues.
  • Complete detailed maintenance reports and work orders to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform paint and finishing repairs to maintain the appearance of our fleet.
  • Follow-up on the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) to ensure our buses are always in top condition.
  • Compile parts lists for repairs and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor warranties and issue parts release slips on work orders as needed.
  • Organize the workshop, including equipment and storage, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Research technical documentation to stay up-to-date on the latest repair techniques and technologies.
  • Clean work and wash areas to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Install radio, camera, and GPS equipment on new vehicles.
  • Detect mechanical problems and address them promptly to minimize downtime.

Requirements

  • DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics, electric propulsion, and Cummins, Wabco, Outlook, and Allison software.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic brakes.
  • PEP card (an asset).
  • Valid Canadian work permit.
