Mechanic for School Bus Maintenance

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team in Bedford, Eastern Townships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy vehicle mechanics and be able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain school buses
  • Perform road tests
  • Complete mechanical maintenance reports and work orders
  • Perform paint and finishing repairs
  • Follow-up on the Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Compile parts lists for repairs and keep inventory up to date
  • Monitor warranties
  • Issue parts release slips on work orders
  • Organize workshop (equipment, store)
  • Research technical documentation
  • Clean work and wash areas
  • Install radio, camera, and GPS equipment on a new vehicle
  • Detect mechanical problems
  • Any other related tasks

Requirements

  • DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics
  • Knowledge of electric propulsion
  • Knowledge of Cummins, Wabco, Outlook, and Allison software
  • Knowledge of hydraulic brakes
  • PEP card (an asset)
  • Valid Canadian work permit
