About the Role

Belcan is seeking a highly skilled Senior Installation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our railway engineering projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all projects are compliant with contractual requirements, system specifications, and local electrical regulations.
  • Design and instruct subcontractor designers to route cables within technical rooms and along the track system, managing filling ratios, existing pathways, and proposing new pathways.
  • Manage and resolve technical interfaces between engineering installation works and technological systems/subsystems.
  • Apply quality procedures for the emission of documents at every stage of the design.
  • Interface with civil designers to ensure integrated designs can be implemented.
  • Identify critical issues in project development, especially during interfaces, and propose mitigation actions.
  • Represent the Installation Engineering team and support design choices with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a BIM environment as part of the project delivery strategy, according to the BIM Execution Plan.
  • Size pathways and raceways, considering subsystems' design.
  • Design management of contractors and subcontractor activities: contract requirements and design processes-control.
Requirements
  • Electrical Engineering University Degree or Equivalent Technical Background.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Electrical Works in the Railway Engineering context.
  • Experience in construction and installation design.
  • Additional expertise in railways contexts is considered a plus.
  • Previous experience in construction is a plus.
  • Solid experience in transit in context with managing wayside installation design and routing cables along the track and within technical rooms.
Operative Competencies
  • Ability to identify, understand, and overcome installation challenges when developing the design.
  • Familiar with Requirement Traceability Matrix and Interface Registers tools.
  • Attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priorities.
  • Ability to work in a project and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to stay organized and maintain project records.
  • Team player.
  • Must be able to proficiently use Revit, Aconex, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
  • Autodesk Revit or 3D software are a plus.
  • Written and verbal English communication skills.
