Position Overview

The Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University invites applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Addiction Research. This prestigious position is designed for exceptional emerging researchers who have demonstrated particular research creativity and the potential to achieve international recognition in their field.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an outstanding program of research, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise and cultivate an intellectual community of graduate students, and help sustain the collegial atmosphere within the Faculty. The Chair will also be expected to contribute to the goals of equity, diversity, and inclusivity.

Research Focus

The Chair will be a full-time appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor or possess the necessary qualifications to be appointed to these levels. The research focus areas for this position are cognitive neuroscience, behavioral science, and clinical research, including both observational studies and randomized controlled trials.

Requirements

The successful applicant must have completed a Ph.D. in a related discipline and demonstrate a compelling vision for continuing and further developing McMaster's Faculty of Health Sciences strengths in addiction research. The candidate must also have a strong track record of research productivity and a demonstrated ability to attract and retain excellent trainees, students, and future researchers.
