About the Role:
This is a key position in the Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University, responsible for enhancing the faculty's award support for research. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to promote engineering research consistent with the faculty's strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing proposals prior to submission to ensure compliance with university policy and federal regulations
- Managing applications that require ethics approval
- Setting up awards to facilitate long-term management
- Advising on non-financial compliance issues
- Providing administrative support for the management of major projects
- Working with researchers to ensure timely access to information
- Assisting faculty members in developing and submitting award materials
- Capturing data on research performance and analyzing it with the Associate Dean, Research & External Relations
Requirements:
- University degree in business administration or equivalent
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in an academic research environment
- Experience developing applications for Canadian and provincial funding
- Experience administering complex projects with multiple stakeholders
