Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist Role

We're looking for a skilled Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to lead our North American sourcing strategy initiatives for assigned categories. This role is part of the Purchasing Team North America (NA), working collaboratively to share purchasing excellence and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop local/regional sourcing strategies using detailed analysis of historical and current spend data, combined with sourcing and research of new suppliers.
  • Participate in developing, implementing, and managing the strategy for the Canadian cheese category, ensuring commercial team needs are met.
  • Support the North America Purchasing team in SRM, quality documentation collection, business case design, and other activities.
  • Identify and develop productivity projects for Lactalis Canada and other affiliates in North America.
  • Lead bid processes by consulting users, preparing bid documents, performing analysis, negotiating contracts, and providing recommendations.
  • Support global negotiation initiatives led by corporate office global procurement, providing information and negotiating at the local level.
  • Execute negotiation cost savings initiatives, manage upstream activities with suppliers, and identify value analysis and vendor transfer opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Quality, Technical Packaging, Sales, and Marketing, for effective project execution.
  • Develop supplier relationships to optimize quality and performance, resolve supplier quality concerns, and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Perform administrative duties such as tracking cost savings initiatives, providing monthly status reports, reviewing pricelists, and managing PPV.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Three to seven years of experience in a Procurement function, preferably in a food company.
  • Industrial and/or Supply Chain Purchasing experience preferred.
  • Experience in paper packaging categories is an asset.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, planning, project management, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and operate in a team environment.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
  • Will be required to travel up to 15% between Canada and the US.
