We are seeking a skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of the Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry and experience working with children and adolescents. They will be responsible for providing clinical input and support for the development of new components to the program, including telepsychiatry outreach, consultation to the pediatric ambulatory care service, and mental health day programs.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients. You will also have the chance to participate in research and training activities, and to develop your skills and expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and will be able to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical input and support for the development of new components to the program
  • Consult with pediatricians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients
  • Develop and implement mental health day programs for children and adolescents
  • Participate in research and training activities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and licensure to practice medicine in British Columbia
  • Experience working with children and adolescents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and a passion for working with children and adolescents
