We are JC's Hot Bagels, a popular bagel shop in the heart of the city. We're seeking a reliable and friendly Food Counter Attendant to join our team.

About the Job

This is a permanent full-time position, working 30-35 hours per week. As a Food Counter Attendant, you will be responsible for preparing and serving food to our customers. You will also be involved in packaging take-out food, portioning and wrapping foods, and keeping records of food quantities used.

Your duties will include taking customers' orders, serving them at counters or buffet tables, and providing excellent customer service. Additionally, you will be required to support newcomers and refugees by recognizing their foreign credentials and providing cultural competency training to all employees.

Support for Indigenous people is also an important aspect of this role, as you will offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, and provide cultural awareness training to all employees.

The ideal candidate should have no degree, certificate, or diploma, but be willing to train on the job. Previous experience is not necessary, as we will provide comprehensive training. You must be able to lift up to 20 pounds (9 kg) and work well in a fast-paced environment.
