The Executive Chef position at Sima Japanese Restaurant is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and showcase your culinary expertise. About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced cook who can lead our kitchen operations, manage staff, and maintain inventory. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cooking, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to train staff effectively.
Responsibilities- Determine food portions and costs to ensure efficient meal preparation
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements to meet customer demand
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain high-quality standards
- Cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods with precision and speed
- Prepare special meals for patients as instructed by dietitians or chefs
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and hygiene
- Train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
- Order supplies and equipment to maintain efficient kitchen operations
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure seamless meal delivery
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in cooking
- Excellent leadership and training skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
This role offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
