About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Trade Marketer to assume a pivotal role in developing JTI-Macdonald Corp.'s market share and volume within their territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing trade programs, optimizing product mix, ensuring optimal product quality and freshness, core brand distribution, and timely data collection. Additionally, this position involves budget allocation management for retail agreements and service fees.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Optimize Product Distribution: Ensure fair and competitive pricing at retail, wholesale, and cash & carry levels within a predefined territory.
  • Data Management: Effectively manage territory data reports, trade program budgets, weekly expense accounts, car stock, tools, and company car maintenance.
  • Negotiations and Compliance: Negotiate independent retail contracts, monitor compliance with key targeted accounts, and maintain accurate account information within assigned budget allocations.
  • Program Implementation: Execute retail programs and product launches as directed, improving results while staying within allocated budgets and maintaining compliance.
  • Trade Education: Educate retailers on JTI-MC products through proper communication of brand attributes and utilization of trade support tools.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Regularly report on compliance with national and regional chain agreements in the territory.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage retail and wholesale customers in discussions about their business and industry trends, providing timely competitive activity updates.
  • Professional Image: Present a professional image and foster good business relationships with customers, adhering to JTI Corporate guidelines and code of conduct.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Possess post-secondary education
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills
  • Show willingness to participate in decision-making with regional management
  • Hold a full valid driver's license (a company vehicle will be provided)
  • Exhibit ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate understanding of financial planning and time management
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in FMCG sales
Skills, Competencies & Languages
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Possess sales experience (an asset)
  • Speak French and English fluently to effectively communicate with retailers
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen
  • Display strong communication and selling skills
