Job Summary

Island Health is seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Breast Imaging. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality images of the breast using various imaging modalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain various imaging equipment, including mammography and ultrasound machines.
  • Position patients for optimal image quality and ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to maintain high standards of imaging quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques to provide the best possible care for patients.
Requirements
  • Certificate in Breast Imaging (CBI) or Certificate in Breast Imaging - Diagnostic (CBI-D) from CAMRT.
  • Graduation from an approved radiology technology program.
  • Eligible for CAMRT membership.
  • Three (3) years of recent radiological experience, including two (2) years in breast imaging.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Breast Imaging protocols, applications, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with radiology systems like PACS and RIS.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to meet job requirements.
  • Proficient in operating computer equipment.
