Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) Certificate in Breast Imaging (CBI) or Certificate in Breast Imaging - Diagnostic (CBI-D), as well as a graduation from an approved radiology technology program. Additionally, you must be eligible for membership in the CAMRT and have three years of recent, related radiological experience, including two years performing breast imaging, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Key Skills and Abilities
  • Proven working knowledge of breast imaging protocols, applications, and equipment, with a thorough understanding of the principles of breast imaging and mammography, including positioning, pathology, current technology, digital mammography, and quality control, as well as patient care techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of radiology systems, such as PACS and RIS.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Physical ability to meet the requirements of the job.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, such as a computer.
