Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Guest Services Assistant to join our team at Great Canadian Entertainment. As a key member of our Housekeeping department, you will be responsible for ensuring the comfort and cleanliness of our guest rooms, while providing exceptional service to our patrons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Front Desk to ensure guest satisfaction and consistency in Guest Service.
  • Promptly and efficiently carry out all guest requests.
  • Maintain a professional manner with all hotel guests and employees.
  • Maintain guest/employee confidentiality.
  • Address guest concerns in a positive and helpful manner and take prompt, corrective action where necessary.
  • Perform daily cleaning of assigned guest rooms and corridors to hotel standards.
  • Ensure adequate linen and guest supplies are stocked on cart, the storage area is cleaned daily, and that all equipment used is in good working condition before commencing daily duties.
  • Prepare all assigned rooms in a timely manner and report 'clean' to supervisor.
  • Collect dirty laundry and store it for pick up according to departmental procedures outlined during training.
  • Check climate contracts including lights and temperature and report broken items to maintenance immediately.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness.
  • Ensure safety of Guests/employees and the safe handling of all cleaning products.
  • Follow up on any unusual occurrences, damage, or theft promptly and report to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Ensure the proper handling, storage and controls of cleaning products and the security of all housekeeping equipment and supplies.
  • Report maintenance and lost and found items immediately.
  • Maintain familiarity with fire products.
  • Follow all Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or comparable combination of equivalent working experience and education;
  • Previous cleaning experience is required
  • People-focused and committed to service excellence
  • Positive team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset

Work Environment Considerations

  • Standing or walking for long periods of time, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, cleaning, some exposure to heat, non-traditional work hours
