Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner - Home Care Services will apply the nursing process to support clients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health within a people-centered approach in acute, transitional, and home care settings.
The incumbent will work to full scope of practice, engaging in ongoing education and maintaining competency congruent with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, and the Regulated Health Professions Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process to support clients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health
- Work to full scope of practice, engaging in ongoing education and maintaining competency
- Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods
- Function in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud
Qualifications
- Proficiency in both official languages (English/French) is essential
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) certification
- Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to lead and make decisions autonomously
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to meet the demands of the position
- Able to effectively perform the tasks and responsibilities of the position
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job

- Good work and attendance record
Conditions of Employment
Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
