Position Overview:

  • Speech-Language Pathologist (Contract Full-Time) – 1 position
  • Full-Time hours per week (1FTE)
  • Salary Range - $35.42 to $44.72 per hour, based on experience
  • Immediate commencement
  • On-Site/In-Person role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments for clients referred for Speech-Language Pathology Services to identify specific challenges.
  • Establish written treatment objectives and plans, collaborating with clients, families, and caregivers to address identified needs.
  • Deliver both direct and indirect client care in alignment with established treatment plans.
  • Engage in preventive initiatives and assess the effectiveness of speech-language pathology interventions.
  • Maintain open communication with all team members regarding client care and document involvement in client management.
  • Supervise activities performed by Speech-Language Therapy Assistants within the speech-language pathology domain.
  • Ensure the treatment environment is conducive to meeting client needs.
  • Uphold clinical proficiency and participate in educational, orientation, and public relations activities as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and fulfill designated administrative responsibilities.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the College of Audiology and Speech/Language Pathology of Ontario (CASPLO) is required.
  • New graduates: successful completion of the Canadian Entry to Practice Exam or registered to complete it.
  • Experience in augmentative communication is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with various service delivery models (e.g., consultation, mediator training, individual/group treatment, parent education).
  • Solid understanding of the principles and practices of the profession.
  • Specialized knowledge of pediatric disabilities (e.g., Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder).
  • Experience working with children across all age groups.
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary client care effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal, listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Speech-Language Pathologists at Grandview Kids engage in various programs, including Preschool Speech and Language, School-based Rehabilitation, and the Ontario Autism Program. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a well-established multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality, holistic, and family-centered services. Comprehensive onboarding and mentorship will be provided, along with opportunities for ongoing collaboration with other SLPs possessing diverse expertise.
