Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse with Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in the assessment, planning, and provision of care for patients undergoing home peritoneal dialysis. Your expertise will be instrumental in educating patients and their families on the proper use of dialysis equipment and techniques, ensuring a smooth transition to home-based care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their unique needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Provide education and training to patients and their families on dialysis techniques, medication management, and other relevant topics.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Monitor patient progress, making adjustments to care plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in AKC Home Peritoneal Dialysis and Hemodialysis, as well as Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) and Nephrology Certification (CNeph).
