Diagnostic Sonographer

The Royal Alexandra Hospital seeks an experienced Diagnostic Sonographer to join its esteemed team. As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will play a vital role in conducting a range of standardized and complex ultrasound services to diagnose and monitor diseases and pathologies.
Key Responsibilities- Preparing patients for examinations, reviewing medical histories, and interpreting procedures
- Capturing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images and taking initial steps to address abnormal findings
- Assisting in diagnosis, clinical interventions, and patient management while upholding a high standard of patient care and safety
- Collaborating with Radiologists, Cardiologists, Perinatologists, and other medical staff on special procedures as required
- Completion of an extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program
- Active or eligible registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- Registered with Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (CSDMS), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), and/or Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP)
- Good decision-making skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain a cooperative and flexible attitude
- Working knowledge of computer applications, particularly Connect Care
