Job Summary:

About You:


To be successful in this role, you will have:



  • a strong background in mental health nursing, preferably with experience in acute, tertiary or community settings
  • excellent assessment and treatment skills, with the ability to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain accurate records
  • a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle (if required)

Responsibilities:



  1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned clients, including conducting physical/psychosocial assessments, monitoring medical and psychiatric conditions, and providing psycho-education to individuals and their support systems
  2. Develop, implement, evaluate, and document psychosocial rehabilitative plans in collaboration with clients' support systems and interdisciplinary team members
  3. Facilitate individual and/or group treatment through cognitive, behavioral, educational, problem-solving, and crisis intervention methods
  4. Provide life skills training when applicable in areas of personal life, leisure, and medical nursing interventions, and respond to medical/psychiatric emergencies
  5. Actively participate in and support the total therapeutic program of the unit
  6. Collect information from various sources using skills of observation, communication, and physical assessment to enable the provision of appropriate nursing care
  7. Communicate and consult with members of the healthcare team about clients' care; set priorities, assign, and delegate tasks to support staff; participate in interprofessional conferences; explain plan of care to clients and their family
  8. Act as an advocate to protect and promote clients' rights to autonomy, respect, privacy, dignity, and access to information
  9. Participate in quality improvement activities and research by identifying patient care issues and collecting data
  10. Maintain a safe environment for clients, families, and staff by adhering to established safety and emergency practices and procedures

We offer a competitive salary range of CAD $41.42 - $59.52 per hour, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
