About the Role

Auberge du Pommier is seeking a skilled Host to join our Front of House team. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage guest flow to maximize seating capacity and ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Communicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders, and Managers to maintain proper guest flow throughout the restaurant.
  • Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation, and seat them accordingly.
  • Accurately take reservations and modify guest status in Open Table.
  • Develop a briefing sheet before each shift to inform co-workers of shows, concerts, special events, and notable bookings.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the restaurant trade area, including location, surroundings, nearby attractions, and directions.
  • Ensure the front entrance, host stand, and surrounding areas are fully stocked and free from clutter and debris.
  • Know all table numbers and maintain awareness of which servers are in each section.
  • Fulfill special request forms for birthdays, anniversaries, and notable bookings, and ensure all co-workers are informed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the washrooms by completing regular checks throughout the shift.
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems.

Requirements

  • Passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational skills and ability to multitask, ensuring seamless communication with the Front of House team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, with restaurant experience considered an asset.
