Role Overview

As a Wealth Management Consultant at Scotiabank, you will play a critical role in identifying and pursuing wealth management opportunities among existing customers. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as the single point of contact for referrals from Retail Banking into Scotia Wealth Management, actively working with Retail Bank partners to educate them on Scotia Wealth Management's offerings and value proposition.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Client Acquisition and Referral
  • Build extensive networks of relationships in Retail Branches under your coverage
  • Act as the key field resource for Retail Branches, consulting on Scotia Wealth Management client opportunities/identification and jointly reviewing client lists to identify existing customers as prospective Scotia Wealth Management clients
  • Work closely with Financial Advisors, Small Business Advisors, and Branch Managers in all assigned branches to educate and coach on Scotia Wealth Management's wealth offerings and value proposition
Client Onboarding and Transition
  • Conduct initial assessments of clients' situations with Retail partners and/or meet with clients who have complex needs
  • Follow the defined process and make recommendations to determine the Lead Relationship Manager (LRM) within Scotia Wealth Management that is the best fit for the client
  • Facilitate the introduction of the LRM to the client and coordinate a session with Scotia Wealth Management specialists to address pertinent areas identified during the initial client needs assessment
Team Collaboration and Development
  • Build effective working relationships across the team and with various business line and corporate function contacts
  • Participate actively in team learning development activities
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, including alignment to the Customer Experience Model
Requirements
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC), and/or other industry-related accreditations are highly desirable
  • Superior relationship building skills
  • Sales-driven mindset and ability to coach peers to identify, pursue, and refer new business opportunities
  • Strong presentation skills (including use of technology), ability to think and respond quickly, and adapt to change within a rapidly growing and complex area of personal financial services
Working Conditions
  • Incumbents located in metropolitan areas will be responsible for traveling short distances to regularly meet with Retail partners/clients to ensure assigned branches are engaged and kept informed
  • Incumbents located in smaller, rural centers may be required to travel considerable distances to meet clients and visit the branches for which they are responsible
