Hudsonville Public Schools is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lead School Psychologist Intern. As a member of our staff, you will have the opportunity to work closely with certified school psychologists, administrators, staff, and families to support student success.

Job Description

The Lead School Psychologist Intern will participate in all activities and roles within the school psychologist's purview, including:

  • Child study, PBIS, department, and problem-solving meetings
  • Assisting in the completion of Special Education evaluations
  • Making recommendations on ways to assist students referred for evaluation or observation
  • Crisis counseling and intervention as needed
  • Developing school or district practices and procedures related to area of specialty

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and effectively collaborate with stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of all required coursework leading up to the internship component from a regionally accredited School Psychology program
  • Successful completion of a School Psychology practicum experience

You will also need to demonstrate strong language skills, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include sustained periods of sitting and working on computer and office equipment, standing and walking throughout buildings, frequent lifting up to 20 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
