Overview

Located in the picturesque port city of Prince Rupert, Northern Health invites a highly skilled physician to join our team as a Medical Director for Coastal Tsimshian Medicine. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide comprehensive and responsive care to the communities of northwest BC's Pacific Coast.

Salary & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $250,000 - $300,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. In addition, you will receive relocation assistance of up to $15,000 and a retention premium of 24% of your annual salary.

Job Description

As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients through telehealth/virtual care and in-person visits to remote communities. You will work closely with the Prince Rupert and Coast Tsimshian Primary Care Network (PCN) to deliver comprehensive care that is responsive to the unique needs of the region.

You will have access to advanced video link/telehealth technology, enabling consultation with specialty services and linkage to other health professionals. Our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform and NH Cerner OS will support your care delivery in remote communities.

In this role, you will also contribute to innovation, creativity, and transformation in health service delivery, addressing inequities and improving patient outcomes.

Requirements
  • License to practice medicine in Canada
  • Valid CMP membership
  • Experience working in remote or underserved communities
Work Environment

The Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 30-bed facility receiving $80 million in upgrades over the next few years. The hospital offers a range of specialties, including internal medicine, medical imaging, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, radiology, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychiatry.
