Unit Claims Manager

We're seeking a highly skilled Unit Claims Manager to lead our Subrogation team in our Mississauga office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the team to achieve essential business goals and meet customer service expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the operations of a Subrogation team to achieve key business goals.
- Provide leadership to the Unit, including communicating corporate philosophy, vision, and values, motivating staff to participate in Unit objectives, and soliciting feedback regarding operations.
- Facilitate continuous learning and development, prepare and discuss yearly performance reviews with unit staff members, and participate in salary administration process for employees in the unit.
- Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on claims matters and technical issues, resolve complex claims-related issues, and ensure that corporate policies, claims standards, and procedures are followed.
- Maintain effective communication channels with other departments, liaise with other claims experts or management on technical and administrative issues, and attend and participate in legislative/judicial hearings and alternate dispute resolution meetings.
- Establish and maintain productive business relationships with vendors, service providers, and legal firms, and monitor performance to ensure compliance with professional and corporate standards.
- Identify improvement needs and recommend changes to policies and/or processes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness.
- 5 years P+C claims experience within Subrogation, Property or Casualty, and/or 2 years of leadership experience.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate and develop staff.
- Leadership skills, including ability to motivate and coach team members.
- A sense of urgency in your work while multitasking, prioritizing tasks, and effortlessly shifting priorities.
- The independent ability to manage hybrid employees and drive business results.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills with all internal and external clientele.
- Analytical skills to deal with policy, legal, and regulatory interpretation and implementation.
