About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Unit Claims Manager to lead our Subrogation team in our Mississauga office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Subrogation team to achieve key business goals and meet customer service expectations.
  • Provide leadership to the team, including communicating corporate philosophy, vision, and values, motivating staff, and soliciting feedback.
  • Facilitate continuous learning and development, prepare and discuss performance reviews, and participate in salary administration.
  • Act as a consultative and advisory resource on claims matters, technical issues, and policy interpretation.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with other departments and liaise with claims experts or management on technical and administrative issues.
  • Authorize settlements of claims in accordance with authority limits and establish productive business relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor performance to ensure compliance with professional and corporate standards and remain current with industry trends and technical developments.
Requirements
  • 5 years of P+C claims experience within Subrogation, Property, or Casualty, or 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate staff, with strong leadership skills and a sense of urgency.
  • Strong analytical skills to deal with policy, legal, and regulatory interpretation and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with all internal and external clientele.
