Job Title: Youth Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team at Coast Mental Health. As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting youth and young adults aged 17-24 who are experiencing mental health challenges, trauma, and other barriers to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Connect with youth who are not accessing services and provide support to help them access community resources.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and services to advocate for youth and provide support.
  • Develop and implement individualized life skills programs with clients, involving family, friends, and community resources as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to youth in crisis.
  • Work effectively independently and in cooperation with others to achieve program goals.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Child & Youth Care, Community Social Service Work, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Recent, related experience of two years.
  • Certificates in First Aid + CPR, WHMIS, and FoodSafe.
  • Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Clearance.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention training, or equivalent.
  • TB Clearance.
  • Immunization Records.
  • BCDL - Class 5, and copy of Drivers Abstract.
