Medical Imaging Department Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clerical Supervisor to join our Medical Imaging team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing direction and supervision to our clerical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our office areas.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the work of clerical staff, determining priorities and establishing work schedules.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as assigned, including arranging for relief staff and participating in the selection of new staff.
- Oversee orientation and training requirements, conduct performance evaluations, and identify ongoing staff education needs.
- Develop and implement written procedures to meet the needs and requirements of the Medical Imaging Department.
- Contribute to quality improvement by developing standards, conducting audits, and compiling statistical data.
- Act as a resource for issues related to office equipment and computer programs/systems.
- Maintain supplies and equipment, and initiate and record office equipment maintenance/repair.
- Responsible for timekeeping/payroll records and submission to payroll.
- Monitor department expenditures and advise Manager of discrepancies.
- Provide clerical liaison with radiologists, supervisors, staff, physicians, external agencies, and other healthcare personnel/hospitals.
- Schedule and adjust patient appointments, liaise with nursing units, physician's offices, and patients regarding patient information, records, etc.
- Participate in/assist to develop and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Schedule and lead clerical staff meetings and attend other departmental meetings as required.
Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant program, and three years' recent related experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to supervise.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal effectively with others.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
