Medical Representative Onsite Healthcare Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Medical Representative to join our team at Amazon, working as an Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) to provide essential healthcare services to our workforce.
As an OMR, you will be responsible for assessing and administering first aid, offering guidance on occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses, and referring care to outside medical providers when necessary. You will also work closely with our WHS site manager, WHS specialist, and Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS) to ensure a safe working environment.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality first aid support and make referrals to outside medical providers as required.
- Maintain awareness and educate associates on potential hazards to minimize the risk of injury.
- Keep accurate records of care provided to associates.
- Coordinate and maintain workers' compensation and return-to-work programs for associates with work-related injuries.
- Submit daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports.
- Engage with associates and leadership on the operations floor to offer coaching on observed at-risk work habits.
- Ensure a clean working environment and maintain appropriate medical supply inventory.
- Participate in training and certification to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certifications classes.
- Hold current first aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Support random saliva drug testing protocols.
- Deliver effective emergency care and assist with site emergency response.
Please note that within three weeks of commencing this role, you will need to obtain Advanced First Aid certification from WorkSafe BC or an entity recognized by WorkSafe BC, if based in British Columbia.
Requirements- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- You must hold one of the following certifications:
- Valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic Certification from the Ministry of Health Emergency Medical Assistants (EMA) Licensing Board;
- Current valid Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Certification from the Emergency Medical Assistants (EMA) Licensing Board;
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), AND have completed a first aid training course or a first aid examination developed or approved by WorkSafe BC; OR
- Have six months' experience as a Military Medical Technician (Canadian Armed Forces) within the past year.
- Experience with workers' compensation claims.
- Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Red Cross.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous experience with industrial wellness programs.
- Passion for promoting health and wellness principles.
- Coaching experience on body mechanics.
- Management experience of musculoskeletal disorders.
- Knowledge of ergonomics principles.
- Familiarity with federal and provincial regulations.
- Digital recordkeeping skills.
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $56,600-$72,800. Amazon offers a comprehensive total compensation package, which may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
