Seasonal Event Operations Opportunity

Banff & Lake Louise Tourism seeks an experienced Event Supervisor to join their team for the holiday and winter season. As a key member of the events team, you will be responsible for empowering and supporting a team of event staff in the execution of Christmas and SnowDays events.

  1. Collaborate with the Manager, Events, to develop and execute the event plan, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for guests.
  2. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, providing guidance and support to event staff as needed.
  3. Supervise event staff, ensuring effective execution of event operations, including site setup and teardown, guest registration, and special event activities.
  4. Oversee event operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in on-site surveying, reporting, and communication with event staff and guests.
  5. Stay up-to-date on relevant destination information, communicating key details to event staff and guests as needed.
  6. Adhere to all Town of Banff and Parks Canada special event policies and permit requirements.
  7. Report any challenges or concerns to the Manager, Events, with proposed solutions.
  8. Act in the best interests of Banff & Lake Louise Tourism, upholding the organization's values and policies.


Requirements

  1. Experience managing event sites, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  2. Ability to work outdoors in various winter weather conditions, standing and/or walking for extended periods.
  3. Ability to lift items such as fire pits, tables, and sign frames.
  4. Detail-oriented, with a focus on executing events as planned with minimal supervision.
  5. Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, statutory holidays, and provincial/territorial holidays, as required.
  6. Experience with ticketing platforms, such as SimpleTix, is an asset.
  7. First Aid and CPR certification is an asset, with training provided and required.
