Ambulatory Surgical Registered Practical Nurse

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in a Surgical Ambulatory role. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide holistic, high-quality care to patients with complex care needs.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities as needed.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for all by adhering to patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
- Exercise sound professional judgment and use best practice guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to create a world-class health experience for patients and their families.
- Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum of 1-year recent nursing experience working as a Registered Practical Nurse in an acute care setting within the past 3 years.
- Proven clinical experience with patient-focused care, including strong patient assessment, care planning, patient education, and documentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, and verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality care and safety, with an ability to exercise sound professional judgment and use best practice guidelines and evidence-based practice.
- Recent completion of a physical assessment course.
- Member of the Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO).
- Experience with starting and maintaining IV Therapy.
- Wound Care experience.
- Ambulatory clinic experience.
- Recent surgery experience.
