Job Title: Regional Health, Safety and Environmental Manager
About the Role:
Sunbelt Rentals of Canada Inc. is a leading equipment rental company in North America, and we are seeking a highly skilled Regional Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join our team in Southern Ontario. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for managing all safety and health activities in the region, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site audits to identify and mitigate safety risks, ensuring a safe working environment for employees and customers.
- Develop and implement effective safety training programs, coaching and mentoring team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Collaborate with the Safety Director and other stakeholders to develop and implement safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to branch managers and employees on safety-related matters, ensuring a consistent and effective safety culture across the region.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote a culture of safety excellence, ensuring all employees and stakeholders are informed and engaged.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma, Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety, with a strong background in incident management, investigations, and regulatory compliance.
- Senior leadership experience, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel and work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
- Valid passport and Ontario driver's license required.
